Instructions
Notes: This project will take approximately three hours.

  1. Cut lace to fit around opening of each switch plate cover. Adhere lace to covers using tacky glue. When tacky glue is dry, spray paint each switch plate cover with Brittania Make It Suede! Textured Paint. When first coat is dry, spray paint again, making sure that all areas are well covered. Allow to dry completely.
  2. Age the frames by pouring a small amount of the Short Cuts Espresso Paint onto a paper plate. Working on a small section at a time, brush paint onto frame and wipe off quickly with a soft cloth. The slightly rough surface of the frame will grab enough of the paint to tone down the base color of the frame and give it an antique affect.
  3. Add silver highlights after the Espresso paint has dried completely. Shake the Silver Leafing Pen as instructed. Pump tip on paper plate until a small pool of paint forms. Wrap a portion of the soft cloth around the tip of your finger and dab finger into the pool of paint. Tap a couple of times to remove excess paint, then lightly (almost a dry brush technique) rub over frames, especially over raised areas of the lace. If you get too heavy with the silver paint, you can go back over it using the same technique but with the Espresso Paint.
  4. Paint the overalls strap hook with Brittania Make it Suede! spray paint, then age with the Espresso Paint.
  5. Adhere metal letters or charms (with hot glue), over exposed screw holes on each frame.
  6. Cut photos and mat boards to fit frames. Spray photos with Krylon Preserve It!. Adhere photos to the mat boards with Krylon Spray Adhesive. Assemble each frame using the double-sided tape to mount photo mats to back of frames.
  7. Cut two pieces of ribbon to desired length. One piece will be for the bow and the other will be the tail to attach the frames to. Loop one end of ribbon over the flat bar of the overalls strap hook. Adhere with hot glue to secure. Tie a bow with remaining length of ribbon.
  8. Use the double-sided tape to adhere frames to the ribbon.
