Instructions
- If you are using a glass block without a predrilled hole, drill a hole near the center of one end of the glass block large enough to feed the lights strand through (about 1" diameter). Rinse out the block with water and let dry completely.
- Insert the lights strand through the hole, leaving the plug outside the hole. (When you're ready to plug in the light, gently pull enough cord out to reach the socket.)
- Wrap the ribbon lengthwise around the block and tie into a large bow at the top. Trim ends as desired. Insert the charm onto the rickrack, then tie the rickrack into a knot around the ribbon at the top of the block.
- Open a new document in word-processing software. Use the font face, point size, and color of choice to type ...a dream can take you anywhere on a single line. (Danielle used Adria DB font for the script and Harting font at a larger point size for dream—all in fuchsia.) Save the document. Print onto standard white printer paper.
- Following manufacturer's directions, lightly tap the Perfect Printing Pouch onto the vellum to ensure a clean and clearly printed image from the inkjet printer. Use spray adhesive to attach the vellum to the printed paper over the text. Burnish the edges of the vellum to ensure complete adhesion. Feed through the printer in the same direction as the original to print the text onto the vellum. Let the ink set for a few minutes.
- Remove the vellum. Cut neatly to fit the front center of the block. Apply white paint in a random fashion to the edges of the vellum and let dry.
- Apply the scroll rub-on to the vellum beneath the wording.
- Use spray adhesive to attach the vellum to the front of the block. (It should still be tacky from the previously applied adhesive.)
